Inbox Cleansing

This is the 2nd time (in my entire life) that I am performing a thorough 'cleansing' of my yahoo inbox.

The first time was when I graduated from college. :p

So many irrevelant trash mails that reached to thousands. I do have funny observations while browsing thru.

1. Curse mail
This is really d*mn irritating. I hate it when I see chain mail with such lines at the bottom:
"If you delete this, something bad will happen to you"

"You should forward this to 10 ppl or else you mother/father will die"

"You close your eyes, say the name of the person you love 10x and ur wish will be granted in X days" (this one still tolerable to some extent, I definitely disgusts the 1st and 2nd)

huh???? Goodness, why are there dorks who create these kinds of mails, and why are there jerks who forward them to others.


2. Lina's mails
If you have experienced jobhunting at least once in your life, jobstreet and jobsdb should not be alien terms to you. And you should know Lina hehe. If you subscribe for openings matching your requirements to be sent to your personal email, lina@jobstreet will be frequenting your inbox every so often. I have lina's mail dating back 2005/6, which obviously has no use.


3. Hate mails
Haha I have written two hate mails in my entire life, and I do hope I wont need to write any in the future, I'm a peace-loving citizen :p. I think I am not an easy-to-piss off person. I usually will just shut up and ignore. It's only in very very extreme conditions that will push me to finally set out for flaming mails as resolution. The results are both quite positive coz they did stop bugging me for the same issues, and I dig get the other parties' apologies --> this one I dont care receiving anyway. Anyway it's really quite funny reading them again, geesh I dont know why did I take such long time to draft those nobela before.


4. dense :p
It's just funny that the same message will give you different interpretations when read at different times. I'm not sure, has it got anything to do with maturity/age? hehe
Received mails - i missed out several opportunities. Quite dense not to notice or realize several things. (it's like an obvious '+', but I somehow mistook it as '-' or probably 'neutral' when I read those before) Probably my mind was too occupied with several things that it didnt function properly, wavelengths bugged down :p

Sent mails - omg what was I thinking then. I couldnt believe I was writing too many rubbish stuff in email conversation. It's like being 'high' or too 'hyper'. Unnecessary things oh well.

Anyway I was able to delete 50% off my mailbox. Destroying traces of evidence :) It's okay there's always room for NEW :p

This series reminds me of college days. I used to watch it over HBO Sat Nights. The theme is not really as obscene as the title implies. There's actually a SATC movie coming soon this year.

Annoying

I have to blog about this before I forget. :p

Last New Year's Eve, I was in good mood. I decided to sms a very few 'selected' people to send New Year greetings, the close friends from school and work. Anyway, I browsed thru the phonebook and smsed around 15-20 people. The annoying thing is I got 2 replies which said 'who's this?'

My God! Who's this! I was deleted na in their phonebooks. I didnt bother replying, leave them guessing. All this time I was exerting effort to 'reload' abroad just to keep the Globe sim 'alive'. Effort meaning I have to post reminder every 2 months to reload and to stock Globe call cards --- which I dont really get to use except during the few days of vacation in Manila. The balance had accumulated to almost a thousand that I dont know what to do with it. Main reason why I want to keep it alive is that it's the number listed in a lot of my records in Manila, whether it's clinical, employment, bank, what have you etc. And the other reason is for close friends to reach me.

I was just away for less than a year. It's quite harsh to think that 'physical presence' is a factor for people to remember you. Anyway, I dont blame these two close friends for assuming the number's dead. Probably it's the more sensible thing to assume and probably their fonbooks are too full they have to kick off some numbers :). Who knows if I got tired one day of reloading, it will die eventually. Hope not.

Pitstop: Biggest Drama

I messed up big time.

My return flight was 830pm of Jan7. I ate too much and drank too much fish soup that afternoon at home because of my mom's persistence, hard to resist a warm goodbye. I boarded the plane around 8pm. It was already my 3rd time and yes, I still cried. I previously thought that I will get numb eventually from all the frequent departing but somehow my weak side is still surfacing during times like this. I cried so hard again, who cares nobody knows me anyway. It was a very enjoyable vacation, I do miss Manila and the lovely bits and people.

So around 10pm during the flight, I felt a sudden surge of hunger. This being a budget airline, there is no food served and no cooked food sold. I ordered cup noodles, btw it was the most expensive Nissins cup noodles I bought for 100php. Probably it's a mix of too much liquid inside my stomach + a little joggling from turbulence + some depression too, that after 30minutes of gulping the noodles, I could feel my stomach churning. I know something's bad about to happen.

Later I felt cold sweats and goose bumps. I went straight to the restroom and threw up. Nausea, I messed up big time. I went back to my seat. The same thing happened for about thrice or four times, frequenting the lavatory, until I emptied the whole cup of noodles. Nakakahiya! My apologies to the aircraft crew.

After check-out, I think I was only 70% conscious and shivering. I didnt know how I managed to drag myself to queue in the taxi stand, and how I managed to sms my family that I arrived SG. Thank God I reached home safe.

So the next thing to expect after vomiting is none other than lbm. Food in = garbage out. Whatever I eat becomes garbage out. haay there was even one morning I had severe hyperacidity that I had to take Zantac (a very strong antacid) I am a druggie.

One of the things I fear about living alone is getting sick. :(

I think I wont be touching any cup noodles for a year, and I'd better be taking normal timed flights except for long trips.

It's quite true what other OFWs would say that frequent vacation is not a good practice. Well because you tend to backslide, that's going back to zero, start from scratch, new adjustment. Strong withdrawal syndrome. Homesick. But I still want to have frequent vacations back in my 'home'! Give me some more days to recover, both health and emotions.

The First Bday!

I just turned 1 last Dec 23!

Cheers to my 1yr old blog. Time flies. Seems like yesterday when I put up this blog because of some interesting things from my Great Wall adventure. And now one year has passed so quickly, so many things have changed! I hope I can still update this blog from time to time. Cheers to more years!
